OFFICIALPRESENTATION OF INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

IN THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH OSSETIA-ALANIA ( RUSSIA)

 

 

The presentation will take place at  44, rue du prince Albert - 1050 Brussels in Solvay premise, on 16 September 2009 at 10.00 – 12.00 and will be followed by a concert of a dance group of Ossetian children, a photo-exhibition and a buffet lunch. No fee.

 

 

Republic North Ossetia-Alania is situated in the North Caucasus. It has an area of 8 thousand km˛, its population is more than 700 thousand people.

 

North Ossetia has one of the most developed economies in the North Caucasus.

 

The share of high skilled labor force in the population is higher compared to average in Russia.

 

The subsoil of North Ossetia is rich in mineral resources among which there are polymetal ores containing mostly zinc and lead. There are prospected deposits of limestone, dolomite and marble as well.

 

North Ossetia has a well developed industry and diversified agriculture. There are metal ore mines, factories which produce lead, zinc, tungsten, rolled copper, hard alloys, construction materials, glass, electric and electronic equipment. There are 5 hydropower plants in the republic.

 

North Ossetia has great potential for tourism and recreation as there are picturesque mountain landscapes, numerous mountain rivers and mineral water sources.

 

The Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of North Ossetia have created all necessary conditions for safe investment in the republic.

 

Tradition of presence of Belgian businessmen in North Ossetia dates back to the end of the 19th century when a group of Belgian industrialists created a mining plant in the region which they owned until 1912.

 

There are numerous investment projects in North Ossetia in the field of industry, agriculture and tourism which can attract attention of foreign investors.

 

To attend this event, we would like especially invite companies interested in technological and financial investment in the following projects implemented currently in North Ossetia:

 

  • Development of Oil Deposits
  • Production of Microchannel Plates (fiber-optic plates, detectors with microchannel and fiber-optic plates, microchannel fiber-optic transformers of second generation, night-vision devices).
  • Production of goods made of basalt
  • Construction of a plant for producing wooden LVL construction elements and furniture
  • Reconstruction of a housing construction plant producing concrete elements and elements for the system of concrete frame housing, engineering networks and landscaping.
  • Construction of limestone plant
  • Construction of a plant for production of cellular concrete elements
  • Production of glucose and fructose syrups
  • Design and construction of greenhouse complexes based on new technologies, equipment and software
  • Development of mountain recreational centers/zones (alpine tourism, mountain skiing and snowboarding, biking, golf fields, equestrian sports)
  • Construction of mini-plants for cement production
  • Production of marble and dolomite
