BRUSSELS, November 22, 2010
Business in the European Union can benefit from the single EU market - over 481 million consumers from 27 countries. Free movement of goods, allowing goods to be sold and transported anywhere in the EU, is a best point of the EU single market. There is a single package of European rules.
Since 2002 every year members of European Business Union are going for the EuroSummit. The next EuroSummit will take place on 22nd of November 2010 in Brussels.
X EuroSummit of European Business Union is meeting of Russian and European Union business leaders. The dialogue between the Russian Federation and the European Union leading businesses is a vital resource for reinforcing our ties and cooperation and bolstering the partnership a partnership that all we now see as strategic.
In cooperation between Russia and the European Union there are thousands of projects have been carried out and trade turnover is growing up to billions of euro’s. The total losses caused by all of the problems the crisis has brought have already mounted up and now come to around $1.6 trillion.
Any crisis creates new opportunities. There is a certain contradictory nature in development. Crises are dangerous, sometimes mortally so for ineffective companies, but they also give the chance to make a business more effective. There are also new opportunities to introduce cutting-edge technology and work on energy conservation. Russia is an energy-rich country and the crisis gives a unique opportunity to use this potential.
European Union will continue to be a strategic key partner for Russia. Russia want to develop the broadest range of contacts with business in the European Union, with the regions, the different countries and the civil society of the European Union. After all, we are all pursuing one and the same objectives today. Russia has set out these objectives in its national development programme for the period through to 2020. The European Union has set out these objectives in its Lisbon Strategy.
Main topics of the Panel Discussions includes:
- The regulation of the international financial market and to bring the norms of the Russian financial legislation in line with international legal norms
- International financial instruments: from quantity to quality
- Improving of the transparency and corporate governance of Publicly Owned Enterprises and the tightening supervisory requirements. International Accounting Standards System
- Removing of the barriers and obstacles to international trade and free movement of capital and goods between Russia and EU
- Improving of the Risk Management System between Russia and EU
- New opportunities for strategic partnership in key sectors
Russia will join the WTO shortly. Russia wants to join WTO, but want to do so under normal and non-humiliating conditions. There have been enough negotiations now. It is time for decisions. The goal of our work together is to create a safe and comfortable modern environment for the citizens of a United Europe.
Before 2010 EuroSummit of European Business Union was available only for members of European Business Union. Now it is open for non-members are well. But only members of European Business Union offered fee free participation at EuroSummit of European Business Union.
