PARTNERSHIP FOR MODERNISATION VI EUROPE- RUSSIA FORUM

Under the Honorary Patronage of Mr Grzegorz Schetyna,
President of the Polish Parliament

Warsaw, Poland
May 31st –June 2nd, 2011

The changing global economic situation imposes on Europe an important role to play, where economies of the European Union and the Russian Federation have a crucial place. Both of them are characterised by a high level of complementary, mutual cooperation and dependence, but also significant differences. Economies of the countries from the Atlantic to Pacific, although under various impacts, tend to choose a similar or common ways for economic recovery and successful development. Among the most important directions are widely understood modernisation including the implementation of innovations, growth of investments and cooperation in the range of high technologies as the main instrument of progress, as well as the evolution of societies and political systems.

The 6th Europe-Russia Forum creates a platform for discussion on the current state of cooperation within the Eurasian Continent, in which the modernization programme would be a factor in Russia’s construction of the “Common space between the European Union and Russia.”
